"account": "A 16-year-old boy entered Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon on Thursday afternoon and opened fire, killing three children and a teacher before he was shot dead by a bystander. The unnamed attacker forced his way into the school by shooting at locked doors, according to police. The three children who died were aged five, eight, and 11, while a seven-year-old and a 54-year-old teacher were critically injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz stated that the shooter was killed by a \"community member\" who pursued and engaged the suspect inside the school. It remains unclear if the assailant had any connection to the school. Superintendent Steven Cook of Bend-La Pine Schools expressed his shock and heartbreak over the senseless tragedy, emphasizing that \"no words can adequately express the grief our community is experiencing.\" Local law enforcement responded to the scene at 12:59 PM local time, receiving an initial report of an unknown suspect shooting into a car. By 1:02 PM, the suspect was reportedly dead. Police have declined to provide additional details about the shooter pending the ongoing investigation.",
