"account": "Billy Joel expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the stage in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, but his desire to perform again hinges on the outcome of several tests related to a brain condition. Joel announced he cannot drive due to his diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a disorder that causes fluid buildup in the brain's ventricles, resulting in issues with hearing, vision, and balance. The singer-songwriter canceled a series of shows in 2025 and opened up about his condition, stating that the neurologists have advised him against performing, comparing each show to a concussion. NPH does not align well with the demands of live rock 'n' roll performances, which are loud and involve intense lighting, sound, stress, audience interaction, and the energy of the show. Joel elaborated that the volume, lighting, sound, stress of the show, audience, and performance energy are factors that could exacerbate his condition. In late September, Joel unveiled a 50th anniversary box set containing 54 unreleased demos, rarities, and live recordings, and plans to release a must-have Consequence record on Record Store Day Black Friday.",
