"summary": "Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane has set a new NHL assist record for U.S.-born players, earning his 895th career assist on Connor Bedard's goal against the Winnipeg Jets. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 894 assists held by Phil Housley, who played 496 more games than Kane. Kane, 37, now has a total of 1,404 points, making him the leading American-born player in the NHL. This milestone comes in Kane's 20th NHL season, following a two-year contract extension with Chicago, where he won three Stanley Cups during his initial 16 seasons.",
