"account": "The Batman Part II is set to resume filming, with Steven Soderbergh taking over as the director from Matt Reeves. The Hollywood Reporter announced the change on Thursday, revealing that Reeves has stepped away for a family matter and will remain involved \"from a distance\" as Soderbergh completes principal photography. Soderbergh, an Oscar winner, praised Reeves' work on the superhero sequel, describing it as \"stunning; intentional, specific, and rigorously coherent.\" The film, starring Robert Pattinson as a melancholic Batman, is still set for a February 2028 release. Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Jayme Lawson, Charles Dance, Gil Perez-Abraham, and Sebastian Koch are among the cast members.",
"summary": "Steven Soderbergh has been hired to complete the final weeks of principal photography for The Batman Part II. This change comes as director Matt Reeves steps away from the project to attend to an ongoing family matter, according to reports from IGN, Variety, and Deadline. While Reeves is working remotely, Soderbergh will helm the remainder of the production to help fulfill Reeves' original vision for the film.\n\nWarner Bros. stated that Soderbergh approached Reeves to step in as an admirer of his work. Once filming is wrapped, Soderbergh will hand the project back to Reeves so that he can handle the post-production process. The goal is for the new footage to integrate seamlessly with what has already been shot.\n\nThe sequel features Robert Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman, joined by Scarlett Johannson and Sebastian Stan, according to TheWrap. While production was previously paused to allow Reeves to focus on personal matters, DC boss Peter Safran recently told IGN that the project would be finished.",
