"account": "The United States Treasury Department has extended a sanctions waiver for the Russian oil company Lukoil, allowing its service stations outside Russia to continue operations until April 2027. This extension follows an earlier license that would have expired at the end of the month. The waiver was granted a week after US President Donald Trump reportedly secured an agreement with Russia to supply diesel to American and global markets. The extension comes amid high oil prices, driven by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The US and Israel's military actions against Iran in late February have further contributed to the surge in energy prices, as Tehran's retaliation includes the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil transit. The latest license, like the previous one, does not permit the transfer of funds to any entity located within the Russian Federation. Additionally, a separate Treasury license authorizes certain transactions involving Lukoil's Bulgaria entities through April 24, 2027.",
"summary": "The move allows Lukoil-branded stations in countries like the US to continue serving customers.",
