"account": "Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has apologized for publicly criticizing the club's board for a lack of investment in the transfer market following their 2-0 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The English giants suffered their worst start to a Premier League season in 40 years, losing their first three games. Martinez took aim at technical director Jason Wilcox, stating he expected more investment after United finished third in the Premier League last season. In a social media post earlier Thursday, Martinez said he had expressed his anger and frustration at not achieving the desired result. However, after facing criticism for putting pressure on under-fire manager Michael Carrick, Martinez met with club officials. He issued a fresh statement saying he had met with the club's leadership and the manager, where they exchanged views and spoke openly about the defeat. Martinez, known for his passionate nature, acknowledged that his frustration led him to express his feelings during a time and place that perhaps were not the right ones. He emphasized the need for the team to maintain ambition, grow stronger, and compete at the highest level. Martinez believes in his teammates, manager, and everyone working to help the club move forward.",
