"account": "Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston is standing by his recent shift in stance regarding the consideration of data centre proposals for approval within the province. In June, Houston had stated that it was premature to prioritize data centres, emphasizing that the province needed to first deliver on its major energy generation projects, such as the Wind West offshore wind farms. The shift in his position came last month, when he expressed that data centres are increasingly essential components of Canadian infrastructure. This change in attitude was partly influenced by Ottawa's introduction of new rules focusing on data sovereignty. Houston attributes his softened stance to the federal government's emphasis on protecting data within Canada. Despite their high energy consumption, data centres play a crucial role in the operation of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.",
