"summary": "The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has officially launched a steering committee aimed at transforming Accra into a cleaner, greener, and healthier city. The committee, chaired by the Ga Mantse, King Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, includes representatives from key technical agencies, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies. A key initiative under this effort is the Adopt-a-Street/Adopt-a-Corridor Programme, which encourages corporations to partner with the Ministry and local assemblies to maintain designated public spaces through regular cleaning, landscaping, and tree planting. The committee's mandate includes developing an implementation framework, identifying priority corridors, mobilising corporate partners, and establishing monitoring mechanisms to track progress. This initiative aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of public spaces while fostering a cleaner, greener, and more attractive Accra.",
