"account": "On Thursday, President Donald Trump declined to permit a live streaming of the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan, defying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's proposition. In a post on Truth Social, Trump acknowledged Hasan's heinous nature, yet stated that his execution by firing squad would not be broadcasted, despite its potential to serve as a deterrent. He added, \"Many very good and well-meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device.\" The execution, scheduled as originally planned, would still be witnessed in person by the immediate families of the victims, should they wish to do so. They are entitled to observe JUSTICE. Hegseth had previously expressed his intention to broadcast Hasan's death, which would mark the first public execution in the U.S. in decades. The proposal faced opposition from Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and former military leaders in the following days. This is a breaking news story, with further updates to be provided.",
