"account": "Former leader of Northern Ireland's largest unionist party, Jeffrey Donaldson, 63, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for historic child sex offences. Donaldson, a prominent politician until his arrest two years ago, was convicted of rape, gross indecency, and indecent assault involving two girls between 1985 and 2008. He served as the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) from 2021 to 2024 but resigned following his arrest. The judge described Donaldson's downfall as catastrophic, stating that there was no remorse or apology from him for his victims. His wife, Eleanor Donaldson, 60, was found guilty of aiding and abetting her husband's offences, although she received only a fact-finding hearing due to mental health issues. The two victims testified that Donaldson engaged in inappropriate behavior when they were young, with one of them alleging rape years later. Donaldson denied all accusations and claimed to have apologized for making the victims uncomfortable. His lawyer argued that the convictions erased all of his client's achievements.",
