"account": "Witness Yamna Ismail testified in the magistrates court that the movie \"Mentega Terbang\" did not lead her to question her Islamic faith. She explained that she had already encountered the concept of reincarnation through various sources like reading materials, films, and anime before watching the controversial film. During cross-examination, she affirmed that despite the film's mention of reincarnation, she remained a Muslim and that the movie did not cause her to deviate from her faith. However, she also admitted that she could not speak for other members of Malaysia's multiracial society regarding learning about reincarnation from other sources. Yamna initially testified that the film offended her as a Muslim, citing several scenes that touched on faith, reincarnation, prejudice, double standards towards Islam, and comparative religion. Yet, she later agreed with her defense counsel that she had not used the word \"offended\" in her police report. She also confirmed that she watched the entirety of the film on YouTube on her phone on February 26, 2023, despite previously stating otherwise. The charges against the film's director, Khairi Anwar Jailani, and producer, Tan Meng Kheng, carry a maximum penalty of one year in prison, a fine, or both upon conviction for intentionally causing religious offense under Section 298 of the Penal Code.",
