"account": "In a recent interview with the Handelsblatt, Brad Smith, the president and vice chairman of Microsoft, called for a \"kill switch\" to be implemented in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prevent potential disasters caused by rogue AI agents. The 67-year-old Microsoft veteran emphasized that the time to act is now, speaking to the newspaper at the sidelines of the EU's AI Summits in Dublin.\n\nSmith urged his industry to invest more in safety, particularly in the long run, as those who want to win the tech race must prioritize short-term security measures. He stated that if that means slowing down at the top to allow safety to catch up, then so be it. For Smith, Germany and Europe are not yet falling behind: \"You don't have to lead in invention to lead in innovation and application. The biggest mistake a country – like a company – can make is to envy others' success and lose sight of their own strengths.\"",
