"account": "On October 15, a 20-year-old Chinese university student, Chen Jun, appeared in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur, pleading not guilty to two charges of causing grievous hurt. Chen allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Leong Kai Ting, 21, and her younger brother, Leong Shun Jie, 18, with a knife in Kepong on September 29 at 5 am. The charges stem from Section 326 of the Penal Code, which imposes a maximum 20-year prison sentence upon conviction.\n\nDeputy public prosecutor Nurainizatul Farhana Zainal declined to grant bail, deeming the offenses non-bailable. In court, her lawyer Ling Yee Siew argued for a lower bail amount, citing Chen Jun's pursuit of a finance degree and his depression, which led to a self-inflicted leg injury. Despite these pleas, the court set Chen Jun's bail at RM8,000 with two local sureties, requiring his passport surrender to the court. The judge subsequently scheduled a case mention for November 11.",
