"account": "Former Vice-President of Sierra Leone, Samuel Sam-Sumana, has expressed deep gratitude to Nigeria for its sacrifices in bringing peace to his country. He emphasized that Nigeria's role in providing troops and other forms of assistance was pivotal in restoring peace and stability. Sam-Sumana also stressed the need for Africa's economic independence to prevent young people from migrating to Europe and America, often at great personal risk due to the lack of opportunities at home. During a courtesy visit to Abuja by the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN), Sam-Sumana described Nigeria as a big brother in West Africa, highlighting the interconnectedness of its stability and prosperity with the subregion. He urged DECAN to maintain its engagement with the military and strengthen professional cooperation between defence correspondents and security institutions, emphasizing the importance of journalists as indispensable partners in governance, accountability, and national development.",
