"account": "Federal authorities have taken action against Minnesota U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, seizing her phone and issuing numerous subpoenas to relatives as part of an ongoing investigation. The probe, which has expanded to include financial disclosures, targets allegations surrounding her immigration paperwork. This escalation in scrutiny comes just weeks before the midterm elections and follows a recent search of Omar's Washington, D.C. home. President Donald Trump has also intensified attacks on Omar's citizenship, questioning her background and questioning her right to invoke the U.S. Constitution. Omar, a refugee who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2000, has denied any wrongdoing and denounced the actions as attempts to target political opponents.",
"summary": "The developments come amid renewed scrutiny of Omar’s immigration history and questions over her financial disclosures.",
