"account": "Otega Oweh, the 23-year-old rookie from Kentucky for the Oklahoma City Thunder, has suffered a season-ending Achilles tear, effectively sidelining him for the 2026-27 season. The unfortunate injury occurred during a preseason game against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. Oweh's non-contact play resulted in him planting his foot as he attempted to explode off it, leading to a collapse and him grabbing his ankle. The Thunder confirmed the devastating news on Wednesday evening, revealing that Oweh underwent surgery to repair the injury. Oweh's career has been marred by setbacks, including an earlier left foot injury suffered during his debut summer league game, which forced him to withdraw before it concluded. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault expressed the gravity of the situation, stating it was particularly tough for Oweh. Oweh's speed, athleticism, and explosiveness were integral to his on-court effectiveness, and it is now up to him to put in the necessary effort to rehabilitate and return to the NBA court.",
