"account": "The FBI has refuted recent reports that its director, Kash Patel, was set to visit Russia just weeks before the US midterm elections. Politico had initially claimed in July that Patel was planning a trip to Moscow, but the bureau denied the allegations on Wednesday. According to the FBI, Patel was actually attending a law enforcement appreciation event at Liberty University in Virginia. A video from an ABC affiliate showed Patel speaking on a panel at the university. This clarification comes days after President Trump suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin was interested in reaching a deal on the war in Ukraine, a stance that has put him at odds with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Western allies. Trump has also recently agreed to a deal to purchase Russia's sanctioned diesel fuel to counter rising domestic energy prices ahead of the midterms.",
