"account": "Michigan basketball has secured the commitment of Lucai Anderson, a highly-rated four-star shooting guard from the class of 2027. Anderson, who attended IMG Academy, has chosen to join the Wolverines, according to a source familiar with the situation. He is the younger brother of Christian Anderson, a former Michigan commit who later transferred to Texas Tech in the Juwan Howard era. The Charlotte Hornets selected Anderson 18th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft.\n\nAnderson is ranked as the 8th-rated shooting guard, 19th overall in the Florida class, and 84th overall prospect in the rising senior class according to 247Sports. Despite being a developmental guard, he possesses clear tools with a late growth spurt, budding skill, and playmaking ability. His left-handed shooting ability, work ethic, and approach make him a promising prospect for continued progression. Anderson received offers from other programs such as Alabama, Texas Tech, Villanova, and Arizona State, but ultimately chose Michigan. The Wolverines commence their 2026-27 regular season on November 3 against Oakland at Ann Arbor.
