"summary": "The Abia State Government has issued a directive to all permanent secretaries, heads of non-ministerial departments, and heads of parastatals to compile lists of civil servants due for retirement. This comes in response to the implementation of a three-month pre-retirement leave policy for retiring officers. The policy applies to those reaching the statutory retirement age of 60 years or 35 years' length of service, as well as those affected by the tenure policy for Directors (8-year tenure). The directive aims to ensure smooth transitions for retiring staff and expedite the processing of pensions.",
