"summary": "Former Sierra Leone Vice-President Samuel Sam-Sumana has expressed profound gratitude to Nigeria for its role in restoring peace and stability to his country. During a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) in Abuja, Sam-Sumana stated that the sacrifices made by Nigerian troops and civilians during the conflict would remain indelible in Sierra Leone’s history.\n\nSam-Sumana described Nigeria as a \"big brother\" in West Africa, noting that the country provided troops and other forms of assistance during the struggle. He emphasized the importance of remembering those who paid the ultimate price to help Sierra Leone regain stability.\n\nAdditionally, the former Vice-President called for Africa’s economic independence. He argued that such independence is necessary to discourage young people from migrating to Europe and America in search of better living conditions and opportunities.",
