"summary": "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that artificial intelligence (AI) will not determine the outcome of the 2027 general elections. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, emphasized that critical electoral decisions, including voter accreditation, result collation, and candidates' qualifications, would remain under human control. While acknowledging the potential challenges AI poses, such as the spread of fake videos and false information, Amupitan assured that the commission has established an AI Unit to address these threats through digital monitoring tools, deepfake detection software, and data analysis.",
