"account": "Formula One team Red Bull has extended the contract of team principal Laurent Mekies until 2031, the company disclosed on Wednesday. The extension was announced at the team's headquarters in Milton Keynes following a press conference held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. Mark Mateschitz, a Red Bull shareholder, made the announcement during a debrief following the team's successful first season with star driver Max Verstappen. Verstappen had recently confirmed his return to Red Bull through 2030. Mekies assumed his role in mid-2025, having previously worked for FIA and Ferrari before joining Red Bull's sister team Alpha Tauri in 2024. Both Mekies and Red Bull shareholders Chalerm Yoovidhya praised Mekies' leadership, stating that the extension reflects their confidence in his vision for the team's future. Mekies expressed his own pride in continuing the partnership with Red Bull Racing.",
