"account": "A political faction led by Moshood Okanlawon Akinleye, commonly known as Americo, has severed ties with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State. This decision was disclosed on Wednesday in Abeokuta South, during a meeting attended by DAILY POST. Americo stated that the group's prior experience in the APC had been unsatisfactory and that they were returning to their political roots in the PDP. He explained that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun (SIA) Movement had made this choice after carefully evaluating its political trajectory. Americo criticized the APC in Ogun State for lacking direction and failing to provide purposeful leadership that aligned with the needs of ordinary citizens. He further likened the APC's approach to that of a cult and declared the faction's intention to support PDP candidates at all levels to form a government that would serve the public interest. Americo also pledged to mobilize the faction's members and supporters to vote for PDP candidates in the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that they would not support any outsider for the state leadership.",
