"account": "The Houston Astros have announced that Joe Espada will not return as their manager for the next season, while Don Mattingly has been signed to a two-year contract to manage the Philadelphia Phillies. Both teams were eliminated in the first round of the MLB playoffs. Espada, who had been with the Astros since 2018, helped the team win the World Series in 2022 before taking over as manager in 2024. Over three seasons with the Astros, Espada compiled an 256-229 record, but the team lost twice in the playoffs and finished with an 81-81 record this year, the worst in the AL West. Astros owner Jim Crane expressed gratitude for Espada's contributions. Mattingly, who took over as Phillies interim manager in April after Rob Thomson's firing, went 79-55 for the remainder of the season and has been awarded a contract through the 2028 season.",
