"account": "Norwegian authorities have apprehended five individuals in connection with a suspected fraud scheme targeting NATO ship services. The suspects, apprehended in Bergen, western Norway, are accused of over-invoicing NATO's Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) for services provided to NATO vessels in Norwegian ports between 2021 and 2025. The overcharges total more than €1 million (US$1.12 million). Defense sector budgets worldwide are expanding, increasing the likelihood of economic crime, according to Marianne Bender, senior public prosecutor at Norway's national economic crime unit. She emphasized that if NATO has been defrauded, there will be a \"tough crackdown.\" Romanian and German police have executed searches at multiple companies suspected of ties to the alleged fraud, operating in Romania and Germany.",
