"account": "Epic Games Store has unveiled its newly rebuilt preview client, claiming it is significantly faster than Steam. The speed boost allows the launcher to go from a cold start to the store page 46% faster than Steam, according to the company. The improvements have been verified by an external vendor. The new client is described as \"vibe coded,\" referring to the use of AI tools to generate code. Epic's CEO, Tim Sweeney, stated that the team is moving towards an \"AI first\" approach in development. While AI usage is common among big game companies, Epic seems unbothered by critics and is treating the new client as a beta test for gradual adoption. The preview client can be downloaded at launcher.epicgames.com, with versions available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.",
"summary": "The updated version is in beta for the time being, and represents a total rebuild of the EGS client.",
