"account": "Epic Games Launcher has been revamped with a new version that launches 46% faster than Steam, according to the company. The updated launcher, which is powered by AI and uses \"vibe coding,\" is currently in its early stages of development and features a core set of components found in typical launchers, including a store, library, and social panels. Martin Keely, vice president and general manager of Epic Games Store, stated that the entire tech stack has been rebuilt from the ground up, with a focus on speed and feature improvements.\n\nThe primary improvements of the new launcher include a faster startup time, with the app now booting from cold in just 5.47 seconds, and re-opening from the system tray in mere .36 seconds – both significantly faster than Steam. Epic's new launcher also boasts a smaller footprint, occupying only 300MB. The library within the new launcher is reportedly 30 times faster to load, compared to its predecessor.\n\nIn addition to performance enhancements, the new launcher offers user-friendly customisation options, such as the ability to adjust the top bar and filter the library using a range of categories. Future updates will focus on improving game discovery to better suit individual players' preferences and enhance social sharing features.\n\nThe new launcher will support Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms for the first time. This expansion to Linux will also bring Fortnite to the platform, pending the completion of Epic's Easy Anti-Cheat system for the platform. Epic Games Store plans to continue refining game discovery and enhancing social features to make the platform more appealing to players compared to Steam.",
