"account": "In October 2026, the processing time for Canadian citizenship certificate applications reached 34 months, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This represents a modest 3% increase from September's 33-month estimate. The rapid rise in wait times, which climbed each month from May to September, slowed sharply in October. From March 2026 to September, the queue grew from 11 to 33 months, before declining in October by 5,300 applicants, marking the first monthly decrease since December 2025. This reduction in the queue suggests that IRCC processed more applications than it received during that period. Although urgent processing is available for specific cases, one month of improvement is insufficient to confirm a long-term trend.",
