"summary": "Three separate attempts to smuggle gold from the UAE to India have been thwarted at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, according to The National Business. Customs officials recovered gold concealed in trolley bag linings, hidden in passengers' socks, and disguised as silver chains. The largest seizure involved 6.5kg of gold worth around Dh3.8 million, which was concealed in a passenger's socks on an Emirates flight from Dubai to Delhi. Airport police arrested eight passengers and remanded them to judicial custody. Additional seizures included 241g of 99.31% pure gold hidden as wire linings in the corners of two trolley bags and a gold paste concealed in socks, which was intercepted from a passenger arriving from Muscat. Customs officials have reiterated their vigilance against smuggling and their commitment to strengthening enforcement at the busiest international airport in the country.",
