"summary": "The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has announced that a $552.18 million World Bank grant for the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE-EDU) programme will target 29 million children, 500,000 teachers, 65,000 public schools, and 10,000 non-formal learning centres across Nigeria. The programme, which will begin on February 27, 2026, aims to improve learning outcomes, increase equitable access to basic education, and strengthen governance and accountability in the education sector. The Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Aisha Garba, disclosed these details at a meeting with state Universal Basic Education Board chairmen in Abuja, emphasizing the need for political will and financial commitment from state governments to achieve the programme's objectives.",
