"account": "René Benko, the former property investor and founder of Signa, has been granted a request to move from prison to house arrest with an electronic ankle bracelet. The Innsbruck Regional Court approved the request, citing Benko's need to prepare for upcoming trials. Benko was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in September for defrauding creditors, specifically for making a €360,000 advance rent payment for a villa despite being on the brink of insolvency. He has been in pre-trial detention since January 2025.",
"summary": "Only in September did the Signa founder go behind bars, now he is allowed to leave prison. Benko's defender justifies the step with better preparation for further trials.",
