"summary": "The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has appealed to the leadership of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) to end their strike and return to negotiations with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to resolve outstanding issues. According to MyJoyOnline Ghana, the Minister announced at a Monday meeting that he would issue a directive to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission by the end of the week requesting that public universities reopen by October 19, 2026.\n\nThe Minister noted that the ongoing industrial action has already caused the University of Ghana and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to postpone their scheduled reopening dates. Starr FM reports that the Commission has directed universities to reopen by October 16 and begin lectures on October 19.",
