"summary": "Seoul Central District Court has sentenced former Democratic Party lawmaker Kang Sun-woo to 2.5 years in prison for accepting 100 million won from former councilor Kim Kyung in exchange for a nomination in the 2022 local elections. The court also ordered Kang to forfeit 100 million won and ordered Kim to serve one year in prison and a former aide to Rep. Kang to an eight-month prison term, suspended for two years, for arranging the meeting between Kang and Kim. The court emphasized that the defendants' actions undermined election fairness and severely damaged public trust in the electoral process.",
