"account": "Ella Flanagan, an Irish graduate from Technological University Dublin, has been shortlisted for the top 20 in the James Dyson Award 2026. Her invention, Noli, is a discreet emergency wristband designed to improve the safety of mental health nurses. The wristband, activated by a simple pull and hold, instantly contacts the nearest staff member in an emergency. Noli is now moving forward to the final judging stage, where it will be reviewed by James Dyson himself, with the potential to win a prize of €35,000. Ms Flanagan plans to continue refining and testing Noli in collaboration with health innovators, as she hopes to see its adoption in mental health settings to create safer environments for both staff and patients. The James Dyson Award, an international competition for engineering and design students and recent graduates, emphasizes innovative designs that address everyday problems or global issues. Judge Kay Yeong praised the top 20 entries for their ability to uncover problems that hadn't been previously recognized, emphasizing the importance of such insights in developing practical solutions to enhance everyday life. The global winners will be revealed on November 4th.",
