The incident occurred around 16:00 local time when Kariem was ejected from the ride, striking other passengers before landing beneath it. Six Flags has temporarily shut down nine rides as a precaution. Police and an investigation are ongoing, though few details have been released. The Goliath rollercoaster, which Kariem was on, has an elevation of 200 feet, a 170-foot plunge, a 540-degree spiral, and a maximum speed of 70mph. Kariem, described as a passionate educator and former IT manager, had survived two rounds of cancer and a car crash with his daughter three weeks prior. His colleagues and family mourn his loss, expressing deep sorrow over the incident.",
