"account": "The Detroit Lions have made changes to their roster during their bye week, releasing veteran defensive back Jalen Mills from their practice squad. The decision came after the Lions defeated the Arizona Cardinals 45-21 on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Mills, 32, had made his latest appearance for Detroit just days prior, raising questions about the Lions' strategy for their injury-depleted secondary. The move was not publicly explained, but Detroit general manager Brad Holmes opted to release Mills rather than sign him to the 53-man roster. The Lions' secondary could look different upon their return from the bye week, with the return of Brian Branch and the emergence of rookie Keith Abney as potential options. Although Mills offered experience and versatility, Detroit may believe its current players can handle the responsibilities previously managed by the veteran.",
