"summary": "President Bola Tinubu has transmitted two bills to the Nigerian Senate for consideration. The first bill, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Bill 2026, aims to overhaul Nigeria's drug enforcement framework by consolidating existing laws on drug-related offences and repositioning the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) as an independent, multimodal safety investigation authority. The second bill, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau Amendment Bill 2026, seeks to expand the investigative powers of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) to cover accidents and incidents involving multiple modes of transportation. Both bills were forwarded to the Senate in separate letters addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.",
