"summary": "Adetutu Sobowale, a journalist for PUNCH, is one of six journalists shortlisted for the inaugural Reporter Slam Nigeria competition. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Alliance Française, Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos. The competition is themed “Journalism and the Nigerian Story” with a broader message of “Beyond the Byline.”\n\nAccording to Punch, the contest was created to provide journalists with a platform to share the experiences, challenges, and discoveries behind their published stories. Melony Ishola, a broadcaster, multimedia journalist, and Head of Programmes at PUNCH Videos, serves as the convener of Reporter Slam Nigeria. Ishola stated that the platform exists because journalists are often the most under-told story in Nigerian media.\n\nSobowale's work focuses on special features, public-interest journalism, and human-centred digital reporting. Her experience includes fellowships and features with African Women in Media, the Africa Centre for Development Journalism, and the Women Radio Centre, as well as volunteering with FactCheck Africa.",
