"account": "Apple has unveiled the HomePod mini 2, its latest smart speaker designed to compete with Google's Home Speaker. The new model supports a four-speaker surround sound system when paired with an Apple TV 4K, an upgrade from the original HomePod mini which debuted six years ago. Pre-orders for the HomePod mini 2 begin today at $149, with availability in stores starting on October 30.\n\nAt first glance, the HomePod mini 2 appears virtually identical to its predecessor, as Apple opted for a safe and familiar design. However, some notable enhancements have been incorporated into this second-generation smart speaker. One of the most prominent additions is a feature called \"Sound Glow,\" which transforms the top area of the speaker into a dynamic light show. This feature reacts in real-time to the bass and treble frequencies in music, and even changes its color to match the album artwork of the currently playing song.\n\nAdditionally, the HomePod mini 2 is available in two new color options: pink and green, offering users a fresh choice beyond the original model's finish. Despite these improvements, Apple's decision to maintain the same physical appearance as the first-generation HomePod mini suggests that the company may be refining its smart speaker technology rather than making a significant design overhaul.",
