"account": "The Los Angeles Rams have cut kicker Harrison Mevis following two missed field-goal attempts in a Monday night overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills, according to a person with knowledge of the decision. Mevis' early 50-yard attempt was missed, and his 48-yard kick in overtime was blocked by Greg Rousseau. He has missed four field-goal attempts out of five this season, the most in the NFL. Head coach Sean McVay attributed the team's loss to their special teams unit.\n\nThe Rams are signing former New Orleans kicker Blake Grupe from the New York Jets' practice squad. Grupe, a four-year NFL veteran, spent his first two and a half seasons with the Saints before being released last November. He then signed with the Indianapolis Colts and made all 11 of his field-goal attempts. Grupe lost a training camp competition to Spencer Shrader in Indianapolis this summer. The transfer of kickers signals the Rams' efforts to improve their special teams play, which has been a concern since last season.",
