"summary": "The Trump administration has requested the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle following allegations of misconduct. Punch and Punch Nigeria report that the request follows allegations of financial misconduct. KahawaTungu notes that the move comes amid reports that Guilfoyle sought money for access to administration figures before her confirmation, accepted lavish gifts, and brought a Greek construction company lobbyist into official meetings.\n\nDuring a Tuesday press briefing, new press secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed the White House asked Guilfoyle to resign, describing her as a \"wonderful asset to the team\" and wishing her luck, according to KahawaTungu and Hellenic Shipping News. President Trump stated he had not spoken with Guilfoyle personally and said, “I didn’t like what I read.”\n\nIn a post on X, Guilfoyle disputed the allegations and stated her intention to defend her reputation and integrity. Her lawyers have denied claims regarding the solicitation of money and stated that reports concerning her travel were misleading, maintaining that she complied with federal reporting and gift requirements, according to KahawaTungu.",
