"summary": "Senate President Godswill Akpabio has rejected a proposed bill to decriminalize attempted suicide, insisting that survivors should be jailed. The bill, sponsored by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, seeks to replace criminal punishment with medical treatment and rehabilitation for those who attempt suicide. Akpabio argued that suicide should remain a criminal offense, contrasting his stance with the bill's emphasis on treating suicide attempts as a mental health emergency.",
