"summary": "The White House announced Tuesday that it has asked U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign. Press secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed the request during a briefing, adding that Guilfoyle had been a wonderful asset to the team. President Donald Trump told reporters that while she was doing a good job, he did not like what he had been reading regarding her conduct.\n\nAccording to Dawn, the administration's request follows allegations that Guilfoyle sought money from a Trump supporter and accepted lavish hospitality from wealthy Greek businessmen. New Straits Times reported that U.S. lawmakers had previously expressed concerns that she may have threatened to use U.S. influence to undermine the Greek government. Punch Nigeria also noted that the resignation request stems from allegations of financial misconduct.\n\nIn a statement on X, Guilfoyle rejected the allegations, calling them false and stating her intention to vigorously defend her reputation and integrity. She defended her record as ambassador, citing efforts to strengthen security ties and boost energy exports. Despite the controversy, she thanked President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, noting that her time as ambassador may be coming to an end.",
