"summary": "The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has registered approximately 231 million telecommunications devices across Nigeria as it implements a new verification system to prevent counterfeit, cloned, and unapproved phones from accessing mobile networks. This initiative aims to strengthen consumer protection, improve network quality, and enable regulators to track devices imported and sold in the country. The Device Checker and Type Approval Compliance framework, which includes collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service, manufacturers, importers, and dealers, will ensure that imported devices are authenticated before entering the market.",
