"account": "Chennai's Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay sought more water from Andhra Pradesh for the city's drinking purposes on Tuesday, but the Andhra Pradesh government did not commit to releasing additional water. AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that they would consider releasing more water depending on the availability and requirements of the State. The meeting took place at Naidu's camp office in Vijayawada, where both CMs discussed inter-state water issues, including the proposed Godavari-Cauvery river linkage. Naidu had already released 4.08 TMC of water to Chennai, citing a decline in Krishna River water availability due to the El Niño effect. Vijay requested additional drinking water for Chennai through the Telugu Ganga project. Under the 1983 inter-state agreement, 15 TMC of Krishna water should be delivered annually to Tamil Nadu, but the current water scarcity has made it difficult to meet the demand.",
