"summary": "President Bola Tinubu has submitted two bills to Nigeria's Senate for consideration, aimed at overhauling the country's drug enforcement framework and expanding the investigative powers of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB). The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Bill 2026 seeks to consolidate existing laws on drug-related offences, while the NSIB Amendment Bill 2026 aims to strengthen the NSIB's independence and broaden its mandate to cover accidents and incidents involving multiple modes of transportation. Both bills were forwarded to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, as required by Section 58(2) of the 1999 Constitution.",
