"account": "The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, based in Borno State, has urged the state government to establish worship centres on campuses of tertiary institutions across the region. This request comes alongside additional calls for more Christian cemeteries and the fencing of existing cemeteries in key areas such as Dala and Maximum Prison in Maiduguri. Senior Apostle Joshua Akeredolu Michael, the CAN secretary, made these appeals during a town hall meeting on the 2027 budget organized by the state Ministry of Budget in Maiduguri. Michael highlighted the scarcity of Christian burial grounds in Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Area, indicating a pressing need for additional burial sites. He further emphasized that the presence of worship centres within government-owned universities and colleges would provide Christian students with access to religious services. The CAN secretary further stated that the association would compile and submit other grievances voiced by Christians in the state to the government.",
