"summary": "The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has proposed a 100-day legislative programme aimed at accelerating work on pending bills, clearing outstanding committee reports, and strengthening oversight. This proposal comes as the House of Representatives resumes after its annual recess. Abbas urged lawmakers to prioritize their constitutional duties over political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. The proposed programme prioritizes bills such as the State Police Bill, the Reserved Seats for Women Bill, and other constitutional alteration bills, calling for sustained engagement with the Senate and state Houses of Assembly. Abbas also urged the executive to submit the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework for the 2027 budget promptly to allow adequate time for legislative scrutiny and facilitate the timely passage of the Appropriation Bill.",
