"account": "Pope Leo XIV, aged 71, is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday at Rome's renowned Gemelli hospital to remove a nodule from his lung and determine if it is cancerous, the Vatican has confirmed. The pontiff disclosed the health issue during a prayer service on Sunday, marking a significant increase in transparency regarding his well-being compared to previous popes, who often provided confusing or vague statements about their health. The surgery, which will require general anesthesia and a weeklong hospital stay, is expected to leave Leo in good condition due to the early detection of the lump. His scheduled engagements through October 20 have been cancelled, but he remains set to embark on a planned trip to South America in November.",
