"summary": "Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has assured teachers that outstanding salary adjustments related to promotions will be paid by October 16, 2026. This commitment follows negotiations with three pre-tertiary teacher unions, whose industrial action has been suspended. The minister visited a school in Accra to monitor teaching and learning after the return of teachers to the classroom. He emphasized the government's commitment to fulfilling the obligations and confirmed that administrative processes are underway to validate records and facilitate the payment of salary adjustments. The minister also highlighted the need for further validation to determine eligibility for the proposed 20% deprived-area allowance and to identify qualifying areas. Despite financial and social protection constraints, the government remains open to engaging with the unions to resolve outstanding issues. The teachers' return to the classroom is seen as a crucial step towards restoring stability in schools and ensuring continuity in academic work.",
